I LOVED this book. It literally oozed dewy-eyed idealism, which got all over me every time I picked it up, but that was probably okay. I just finished The Glass Castle, and I think the only remedy for the funk that book throws a person into is a good dose of dewy-eyed idealism.
Ok, so I think this was a pretty good book. What a story this guy had to tell. It all seemed so honest and straight forward. I really admire people who give so much of themselves for the good of others. In the end, I was glad he got to go home and start a life with someone who understood what he had been doing and could continue to support his interest in those children. A really great story.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this book. Idealism aside, it's amazing what people accomplish when they try to do just a little bit of good.
