July Book: Spell or High Water

Inasmuch as the sequel to my book from last year was released just in time for my choice for this year, I'm choosing Spell or High Water by Scott Meyer as the book for July. Both audio and ebooks are in the dropbox.

June Book: Little Princes

The book that Mom has chosen for June is Little Princes: One Man's Promise to Bring Home the Lost Children of Nepal by Conor Grennan.

I have the audio on hold from the library and am still seeking out a print version.

May Book: The Hangman's Daughter

From Dad:

I learned my lesson after choosing the last book. This time I am choosing a book I have actually read. The Hangman's Daughter by Oliver Potzsch.

Available in book and CD from SL County library.

Good detective story set in 1600's Germany. Minimal bad language, though a little graphic at times (torture).

Alternate:

Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe. 

One of the best books I have read in a long time. Understandable how it strongly contributed to the Civil War.

April Book: My Name is Asher Lev

The book for April, chosen by Julie, is My Name is Asher Lev by Chaim Potok.

Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to get this book in electronic format from the library, and probably won't be able to for another 12-15 weeks. I cannot find it anywhere else. So, paper is probably going to be the only option for a while.

March Book: The Giver

Sarah's choice for the month of March is The Giver by Lois Lowry.

The epub is now in the dropbox. The rest of the series, consisting of The Messenger, Gathering Blue, and Son are also in the dropbox, should you desire to read the entire series.

February Book: Lone Survivor

It appears that there has been a mass of confusion at the start of this year.  The real book for February, as chosen by Cindy, is Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell.

The epub and mobi files are in the dropbox. Audio is on hold, but with the movie coming out, it's popular right now, and may take more than a month to get in.

January book: Miracles and Massacres

It has come to my attention that it's suddenly my turn to choose a book for the list. My book for this month is Miracles and Massacres: True and Untold Stories of the Making of America by Glenn Beck.
